Appointment Policy

Country Veterinary Hospital offers morning and afternoon appointments available during the week, and reserve the middle of the day for medical and surgical procedures. We do not accept appointments on Thursdays. We are closed on weekends.

To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate solely by appointment.  Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable.  We will always make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.

For your convenience, drop-off appointments are available. A 'drop off' means you could present your pet at the time that works best for you and leave him/her with us.  We will ask you to drop off sometime in the morning so we can examine the patient in between appointments or at the time purposely reserved for admitted patients.   After the examination, the doctor or technician will call and review the findings, and discuss proposed plans of action.  For chronic or complicated conditions, drop offs are discouraged, as the Doctor would like to personally hear particulars.

For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that all vaccinations be up to date.  Admitted patients must be on acceptable flea control, or be treated upon admittance.  This is to ensure their health as well as to protect other admitted patients.  Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. This is one of the reasons we ask you to restrain your pet. We recommend that animals be placed on a leash or in pet carriers before entering the waiting room.

Payment Policy

We require full payment at the time that services are rendered. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, cash and personal checks. We do have a 3% credit card transaction fee.

Missed Appointment Policy

We understand emergencies happen and we strive to be as understanding as possible but please communicate with us if you are unable to make your appointment so we can bring in another pet that may need that time urgently.

If two appointments are missed WITHOUT COMMUNICATION, you will be asked to pre-pay $88 when the next appointment is scheduled.

If 3 appointments are missed within one year WITHOUT COMMUNICATION, services will no longer be rendered.

Aggressive dog/cat

If a pet is aggressive and cannot be handled with an e-collar or muzzle, you will be asked to seek services elsewhere.

We do our best to work slowly and understand fearful pets and we strive to help them as best we can but if a pet is aggressive and will bite us, we recommend UC Davis Behavioral Consultation.
